Fiscal Sponsorship Project Submission
What is Fiscal Sponsorship?
Fiscal sponsorship is an arrangement where an existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization partners with an individual or entity that does not have the legal status to receive grants from foundations, individual donors, and government agencies.
In this arrangement, the fiscal sponsor provides administrative services, oversight, and assumes limited legal and financial responsibility for the activities of the sponsored group or individual. The goal is to support work that aligns with the fiscal sponsor's mission, which, in this case, is to promote creative independence in visual storytelling and to support a diverse and innovative community of artists.
The main advantage of fiscal sponsorship is that it allows individuals to access charitable funding for their projects without the need to establish and manage their own 501(c)(3) organization. This is particularly beneficial for independent filmmakers, for whom creating a nonprofit for a single project is often unnecessary.
